I am Dan DeRenzy. I grew up in my family’s towing, recovery, and repair business where I learned sharpening, welding, repairing, rigging, and all sorts of other stuff. Our business was a 24/7 operation and the busiest of times was usually when other normal businesses were closed. We did not have the luxury to shut down if something broke or tell a customer to wait until morning so if it needed done, we did it ourselves. I also learned responsibility, the value of hard work, and how to be honest and treat people fairly. I was learning how to run my own business although I did not know it at the time. Eventually I left the family business and etched out a career away from the rest of the DeRenzy seedlings. I carried the value of hard work, honesty, and a job-well-done with me during my 25 year post family hiatus. My wife heard all along about my desire to do something for myself so when I retired in 2009, she encouraged me to renew pursuit of my sharpening interests. Initially it was one machine training and practice. Then another and another and before long it was really a business. Without a doubt, I know what I know now, and I can do what I can do now, due to in one form or another, my loving father’s teaching, leading, and tons of patience. I love him dearly and pray that I bring but a fraction of what he was in business, and still is in life, to my contribution to society. Please drop me a line about how I might make this site more informative or present a question for entry in my “FAQ” page which is currently being written. I appreciate you taking the time to read this far.
